Diabetes - Elgin

Diabetes is a condition that results from not enough insulin in a person's blood. Insulin helps the body manage healthy levels of glucose for energy. Diabetics often need to have a glucometer so they can monitor their blood glucose levels several times a day. Help with diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and medication can minimize complications such as vision loss, kidney damage, and foot problems.
