New Name Signals New Era in Care
The new mental health care facility in London is opening on the Parkwood Hospital site this November.
Bringing together physical health care provided at Parkwood Hospital with mental health care on the same site signals the start of an exciting new era in care recovery and rehabilitation. An era that erases the line between physical and mental health care, and that recognizes care of the mind and body go hand in hand.
“To herald the start of this new era, when the new mental health care facility opens November 16 it will come together with Parkwood Hospital under one new name for both facilities: Parkwood Institute.

“At Parkwood Institute the vibrant academic health care community will collaborate on physical and mental health care, teaching and research,” says president and CEO Dr. Gillian Kernaghan.
The new name combines the well-known name “Parkwood”, with “Institute” which reflects excellence in care and teaching, and the hope research holds for future discoveries in mental and physical health care.
