Snowbirds Flying in for Fundraiser
Stratford Police Association, Stratford Fire Association, United Way Perth-Huron and the City of Stratford partnering to welcome the Snowbirds August 26, 2014. The Snowbirds are returning to Stratford on September 10th for a thrilling airshow at Stratford Municipal Airport hosted by the Stratford Police Association, Stratford Fire Association, United Way Perth-Huron and the City of Stratford. The Snowbirds, officially known as the Canadian Forces 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, are Canada's military aerobatics or air show flight demonstration team. The show team flies 11 CT-114 Tutors.
“We are so pleased to have this opportunity to bring back these talented pilots to Stratford and raise money for these worthwhile organizations”, Craig Wesson, Stratford Police Association and committee member. “Funds will be divided between the United Way Perth-Huron, The Stratford Fire Association and the Stratford Police Association”.
Dinner with the Snowbirds - Tuesday, September 9th at 7 pm, this is an amazing opportunity for all flight enthusiasts to meet and dine with the members of the Snowbirds. Tickets for the three course meal at the Arden Park are $56.50 (including HST). Tickets are available at www.stratfordairshow.com and should be purchased in advance.
Stratford Airshow - Wednesday, September 10th - Advance tickets are $13 for adults ($17 at the gate) and $3 for children under 12. Gates will open at 2 pm, The Canadiana band Trent Severn, will be performing at 3:30 pm. Trent Severn is a trio from Stratford, Ontario comprising of Emm Gryner, Dayna Manning and Laura C. Bates.
The Snowbirds will begin their demonstration at 5 pm. Rain or shine.
The following food trucks will be on site: Poor Bhoys Eatery, Wicked Pickle, Café du Monde Crêperie, Ken's French Fries and The Stratford Ag Society. Bright's Water Truck will be providing water so everyone is encouraged to bring water bottles! Parking is available at the Stratford Rotary Complex with free transportation to the Stratford Airport, field parking available close to the Stratford Airport. A schedule of departure times will be available on the website.
For safety reason roads will be closed directly around the Stratford Airport, from 2 – 8 pm.
