Patients and Staff at HPHA Say 'Thanks' to Doctors on Doctors' Day

Did you know that every day, more than 320,000 patients across the province are treated and cared for by a doctor? Whether it's in a hospital, a long-term care home, a clinic or at home, Ontario's doctors are making a positive difference in the lives of patients by providing high-quality care when it's needed most.

May 1st is Doctors’ Day, a special day launched by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) to honour the dedicated physicians who work tirelessly for the patients who entrust them with their health care.

"The dedication and commitment exhibited by our local physicians in all that they do is second-to-none,” says Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) President and CEO Andrew Williams. "As key members of our health care team , physicians play a vital role in the provision of high quality, accessible care and we thank them for all that they do."

In addition to providing compassionate care, physicians at HPHA are helping to shape the future of health care locally, regionally and provincially by participating in research, developing educational programs, and advancing innovative models of patient care. They are also instrumental in leading the integration of health care across our system to ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time in the right place.

“Our physicians are core to the strength of our health care delivery system,” adds Mary Atkinson, HPHA Board Chair. “The Alliance and our communities are the benefactors of the care and commitment of this well respected group.”

During the month of May, patients and their families are invited to celebrate Doctors’ Day by adding their name through OntariosDoctors.com or by tweeting #PatientsFirst #DocsRock.
