United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) is a leader in understanding the root causes of social issues and bringing together people and resources to find lasting solutions. UWPH is creating real change in people's lives - meaningful, positive, lasting change. Not just for today, but for the long term. And that means a better community for us all. By inspiring people to come together, we have the power to make a real difference, in people's lives and in our community. UWPH seeks to invest in programs that are in alignment with the Community Impact Framework and will create positive change in the lives of community members. UWPH's 3 Focus Areas are:

General Eligibility (New Initiative and Impact Funding Grants)

In order to be eligible to receive UWPH funding, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Provide services to Perth and/or Huron County.
  • Be registered with Canada Revenue Agency as a current registered charity or incorporated not-for-profit organization.
  • Have a volunteer board of directors.
  • Submit annual financial reviews.
  • Be non-partisan.
  • Adhere to policies within UWPH's.

As part of the Community Impact Funding model, UWPH gives everyone in our community an equal opportunity to submit funding requests. The funding request process operates in two phases:

  1. Submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) application (open)
  2. Submission of a full funding request application (available for approved EOI applicants)

An EOI allows any applicant who meets the UWPH's eligibility requirements to submit a brief proposal of what program they are requesting funds for, the amount being requested, along with a financial review for their organization. There is no limit to the number of EOI's any given applicant may submit.
