London Police Service
Rookie Ball Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, July 13

Rookie League baseball provides approximately 70 children between the
ages of eight and eleven years old with the opportunity to experience
the game of baseball. While participating, they build on the spirit of
teamwork and can also develop leadership skills. The league is made up
of four teams that play a scheduled game and one practice each week for a
period of six weeks throughout the summer. The teams are coached by LPS
members, both sworn and civilian, that volunteer their time for this
important community project.

On Wednesday, July 6th, 2016, the
London Majors hosted the first Training Day at Labatt Park. The players
and coaches met, talked about the season and worked on skills
development with some London Majors players.

Tomorrow, Wednesday,
July 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. the season opening ceremony and games are
scheduled to take place at Vauxhall Park. London Majors players will be
pitching and umpiring the games. Chief John Pare will be throwing the
1st pitch and Constable Sandasha Bough will be singing the National
Anthem.

The season final is scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Labatt Park.

The
Rookie League program is sponsored by a number of community partners
including: Joe Kool's, London Middlesex Housing Corporation, London
