Service Description: Environmental issues aims to prevent the spread of diseases * creates a healthy environment for people to love, work and play

Programs and services delivered under the environmental issues team include:
 
Birth Control Clinic - Services available to women under 50 years old:
  • Birth Control Counselling
  • Low cost birth control
  • Low cost emergency contraception
  • Cervical Cancer Screening (pap smear/pap tests)
  • STI, pelvic pain, infection assessments
  • IUD consultation
  • IUD insertion
  • Free condoms
 
Food Safety and Healthy Environments - Services and information related to food safety and other environmental health hazards
 
Immunization Clinic (The) - London - Immunization clinic * publicly funded vaccines available to protect against vaccine preventable disease
 
Infectious Diseases - Prevention and control of infectious disease * inspects institutional food premises, including:
  • long-term care homes
  • retirement homes
  • hospitals and childcare centres
Monitors and responds to outbreaks in institutions and community * conducts case and contact management for diseases of public health significance
 
Needle Exchange Program - Reduces harm by providing a free and safe place for people to access clean supplies and dispose of used supplies * resources and counselling available
 
Safe Water, Rabies and Vector-Borne Disease - Information, education and services on water quality and diseases spread by animals and insects
 
Sexually Transmitted Infections Clinic - Sexual health clinic * health professionals test for and treat sexually transmitted infections
